The RPM Story

Born in the heart of the Bay Area music scene, RPM exploded onto the stage in 1981, quickly earning a reputation as a must-see live act. Signed by California Talent Associates—the premier talent agency in Northern California at the time—the band tore through 250+ shows in just two years, packing clubs and events with high-energy performances that left crowds buzzing. Then life happened: college, careers, families. What was meant to be a pause turned into a 30-year intermission… but the RPM story was far from over.

In 2013, RPM roared back to life—reformed, recharged, and ready to reclaim the stage. Since then, the band has become a fixture across the San Francisco Bay Area, delivering unforgettable shows everywhere from corporate sales kickoffs and major festivals to iconic venues, wineries, fundraisers, and private events. Whether it’s in San Jose, Los Gatos, Mountain View, Pleasanton, Danville, Willow Glen, Concerts in the Park, or packed festival crowds, RPM brings the same mission every night: ignite the event and keep it rocking.

Musically, RPM is all about range and crowd-pleasing firepower. Their expansive catalog spans Pop, R&B, Disco, 80s Synth Rock, and timeless Rock ’n’ Roll classics from the ’70s and beyond—all delivered with polish, punch, and personality. With a loyal and growing fan base of 1,600+ followers, RPM doesn’t just play songs—they create moments, sing-along choruses, and dance-floor memories that stick long after the last note fades.

But the RPM experience goes way beyond the music. Every show is a full-scale production featuring professional digital sound, mixed by a former Dolby Labs sound engineer, and dynamic concert-grade lighting—LED floods, moving spotlights, gobos, lasers, and atmospheric effects—all dialed in to elevate the energy. Add in aggressive event promotion, social media buzz, custom posters, and crowd-favorite giveaways, and you get a band obsessed with one thing: bringing fans to the events. RPM isn’t just a band—it’s a high-octane live experience.
